At MG Chrysafidis S.A., recognizing the need for continuous improvement of our environmental performance based on the principles of sustainable development and in compliance with legislation and international standards, we aim for balanced economic growth in harmony with the environment.
Following a path of sustainable development, our company seeks to conduct its activities in a way that ensures environmental protection as well as the health and safety of employees, the local community, and the public. For this reason, we have established an environmental policy that is an integral part of our strategy, and we are certified under ISO 14001.
Our environmental policy focuses on:
Energy conservation and natural resource management
- Systematic monitoring of energy consumption
- Systematic monitoring of fuel consumption
- Installation of photovoltaic systems at all facilities
- Replacement of old-type light bulbs with LED lighting
- Installation of Inverter technology air conditioners
Waste management
Priority is given to separate collection and recycling (metal scrap recycling, IT equipment recycling, battery recycling via the AFIS program, paper recycling)
Climate change – Reduction of greenhouse gas emissions
- Gradual replacement of the company’s vehicle fleet with hybrid and electric vehicles
- Replacement of forklifts and lifting vehicles with electric ones
- Creation of a new, fully “green” warehouse in Thessaloniki
Continuous awareness and training of senior management and staff on environmental issues
